Hi, I'm Raely and I'm in Wake Tech's Graphic Design & Advertising program.
I believe that the arts are integral and that everyone should feel supported in exploring their creativity. Growing up, I did theater. It taught me many skills, including reading comprehension, empathy, team work, sewing, set construction, and discipline. I believe that art should be available and accessible for all kids who are interested. At the same time, I would like for it to be continuously encouraged into adulthood. Not just theater, but anything creative. There is no need to make things purely for their resale value. It may feel like that, since adulthood in modern society is often about paying the bills; however, art encourages personal expression and growth and should be considered more.
